I'm glad you're enjoying the show! I agree about Ashley. I like her when she's at her most villainous, and I'm hoping her attempts to climb the social ladder will eventually get her in hot water with Emily.

Emily's dad invested in Nolan's company at the very start to help him build it, so when the company got huge both Nolan and Emily's dad made a ton of money. And that's also why Nolan cares so much about Emily's dad and Emily, because David Clarke was the first person to believe in his dream and he wouldn't have his company without him. I'm guessing Nolan must be a little older than Emily. I think he was some kind of teenage prodigy.

Just started watching the first episode this week and am now all caught up. Agree this series has very much a Veronica Mars feel to it. It is a bit campy and Melrose Place 1.0 in places but not enough to make it totally ridiculous. I think any feelings Emily may have for Daniel are largely irrelevant, even if she has them, nothing is going to stand in the way of her revenge. She was thinking of backing out of the marriage, but then when she heard the story that Victoria told about her father raping her, she is right back.

I like the slow reveals the show does where we learn more and more each week but at the same time the plots do move forward.

I do think though that this formula is limited in terms of a series' longevity. There is no where for the show to go after Emily finally gets the Graysons and if that takes more than 1-2 seasons then the plots will be stretched out and things will get too campy. The show has a real potential for ridiculous campiness, so far, it has been able to avoid that, I hope they don't drag it out too long though.

The one character which I think really doesn't fit is Ashley. Ambitious party planner and practical PA? She needs to fade into the background or play a very minor role.

And sometimes Declan gets on my nerves too, he is a little too eager sometimes to sock it to the Grayson's the poor boy being jealous of the rich angle is not interesting at all, it's just been done too many times. I am glad they have cut back on it, but I think it will heat up again as I am sure Conrad will not pay for Declan to go to that prep school anymore.

Maybe I missed this, but where exactly did Emily get her fortune? Did her dad sock away money offshore? And I don't get why Nolan has promised her father to help her? He was a kid when all this went down. Did I miss that part or have they not revealed it yet?

Great recap, you covered most of what I was thinking. I can't decide if Emily really has feelings for Daniel. She told Nolan in this episode "I'll never be finished", which makes me think she really has no other purpose besides revenge. She is one of the most interesting characters on tv right now, because she is so flawless.
